There are so many natural phenomena that occur in our nature. Most natural phenomena that occur can be explained scientifically and the cause why such phenomena can occur. However, in this world, there are some unique and rare natural phenomena that sometimes make us amazed by its beauty.
Beautiful Natural Phenomena
The following are some beautiful phenomena in the world.
Moonbow or Lunar Rainbows
This rainbow occurs because the sun shines on droplets of dew and usually occurs in the atmosphere after rain. Moonbow is rarer and can only be seen at night when the moon is at a low point during the full moon to almost full moon. One popular spot to see the Moonbow is at the Cumberland waterfall in Kentucky, USA.
Fata Morgana or Mirage
A Fata Morgana is an unusual and complex form of superior mirage that is seen in a narrow band right above the horizon. Fata morgana appears when the light is refracted and produces images of an object or sky. In fact, it does not exist. This phenomenon usually occurs on hot surfaces such as asphalt roads or deserts. Often in the desert, mirages resemble a lake or water or city.
The Belt of Venus
The Venus’s belt is an atmospheric phenomenon visible shortly before sunrise or after sunset during civil twilight. It emerges during the dusty twilight when a bunch of reddish and brown skies appears between the sky and the horizon. This phenomenon is a pink light extending approximately 10-20 ° above the horizon around the observer. The curved pink color is caused by a deflection of the red light from the rising sun or sunset.
Noctilucent Cloud or Night Cloud
The Noctilucent cloud is a very high cloud in the atmosphere which refracts light at dusk when the sun sets. They are made of ice crystals and are only visible in a deep twilight. They are the highest clouds in Earth’s atmosphere and clouds in Earth’s atmosphere. It is located in the mesosphere at altitudes of around 76 to 85 kilometers. They are too faint to be seen during daylight.
In the southern hemisphere is also known the Aurora Australis. Aurora Borealis are electrically charged particles from the sun that have reached the top of the Earth’s atmosphere and become very active. This aurora is often seen in areas near the poles and when the day and night are the same lengths.
These strange cloud forms are often associated with storms and still cannot be fully understood how these clouds formed. They are formed by cold air sinking down to form the pockets contrary to the puffs of clouds rising through the convection of warm air.
The fire whirl is a tornado that rotates too close to a forest fire. Firewhirl is formed because too much intense rising heat and turbulent wind conditions combine to form whirling eddies of air in an area. It is a whirlwind induced by a fire and made up of flame or ash and usually start with a whirl of wind or smoke.
