In Japan, the manga is generally printed in magazines that have size as big as a phonebook and usually consist of various stories that continue on the next episode.

The term anime is the absorption language of English “animation”. Japanese animation style is generally characterized by colorful graphics, vibrant characters, and sometimes unreasonable themes. In general, anime was originally known since 1917. But the characteristics of the anime style began to be developed in 1960 that marked by the work of Osamu Tezuka.

He became famous outside Japan in the 1980s. Like manga, anime also has a large audience in Japan and also recognized around the world. Anime can be broadcasted by TV broadcast, directly to video, theater, or online.

Whether with hand drawing or computer animation, both are used in TV series, movies, videos, video games, commercials, and internet. Along with the rising anime popularity, the Japanese anime also gained popularity in around the world.

Cosplay is an art show where the participants wear costumes and accessories that show a specific character. In general, cosplay refers to manga, anime, comics, manhwa, video games, singers, musicians, as well as movies.

The term cosplay was created by Nov Takahashi in 1984 while attending a sci-fi convention in Los Angeles. Not a few people think that cosplay comes from Japan but in fact, it is not entirely true. Forrest J. Ackerman inspired fan-costuming around the world at the first world convention on Science Fiction in 1939 at Caravan Hall, New York.

Since then, the term cosplay has spread to countries around the world such as the Philippines, China, Italy, France, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, Canada, and other countries. Although many countries have succeeded in producing great creations in costume Japan is the largest exporter country in terms of quality cosplay.
