Indonesian Rendang One Of Most Delicious Food

Indonesian rendang is very famous. It becomes one of the most delicious meat dishes. In 2011, rendang was crowned as the first ranked dish in the list of 50 World’s Tasting Courses that held by CNN International. Rendang is actually a traditional Minangkabau cuisine.

Each area of Minangkabau has different cooking techniques and different seasoning. It is commonly found in Padang Restaurant around the world. This dish is also popular among Indonesian people as well as countries in Southeast Asia.

Rendang is a spicy flavored meat dish that uses a mixture of various herbs and spices. This cuisine is produced from a heated cooking process repeatedly with coconut milk for hours until dry and solid black color. Moreover, rendang can last for weeks. Rendang which is cooked in a shorter time and the coconut milk has not dried up called Kalio. Kalio has a light brown golden color.

The basic ingredients of rendang are meat, coconut milk, and a mixture of a variety of distinctive spices. The spices are such as pepper, lemongrass, galangal, turmeric, ginger, garlic, onion, and other spices. The uniqueness of Indonesian rendang is using the natural herbs. After boiling, the fire is reduced and stirred until the coconut milk thickens and dry without burning or destroying the meat.
